The Opencard is a card that contains a contactless chip, that does not contain any personal information. This card can be used for public transport, paying for parking, public libraries throught Prague, and some discount programs. To obtain the card you will need to fill out an application form. The Opencard website offers a sample in English, however, when you go to apply you will need to have transfered the information onto a Czech form. To visit the opencard website of the opencard application in English and in Czech visit the appropriate link. Use the English site as a template for filling the form out in Czech. Attach a passport sized photograph to the Czech version of the form. The last part of the process is to take the form, payment (they do not accept credit cards or bank cards), and passport photograph to an opencard customer center. For fees and locations see below. After getting your brand new open card, you will need to go to a DPP ticket counter. These counters are located throughout Prague at most metro stations. The suggested place to do all of this is at the Metro station Mustek on the B line. There is an opencard customer center located upstairs, and a ticket office downstairs.
